The Halfway Point

I will be putting up a big post about Berlin soon; in the meantime, I am working on the pictures and I'll hopefully be posting that tonight. But there's still so much more to share with you!

It is a gloomy day in London, and I couldn't be enjoying the weather more! Everyone at work thinks I'm crazy for being happy that the sun has taken a holiday, but to me it just feels like London. Plus it's much easier to be inside at a desk if the sky is a hazy shade of grey.

Yesterday (Monday) started my 5th week of work - the halfway point. On one hand, it feels like I've been here for a month already; but on the other hand, it's hard to believe I have only 15 days left of work. 3 more weekends here. But the upcoming weeks are sure to be some of the best!

I also have some exciting things coming up at work. Today, my boss and I had a catch-up session about my progress, and she gave me some great feedback about my work. She said that she feels that she can really trust me to get things done well, which is apparently rare for an intern. I will be giving a presentation to the whole agency next week about how we did at the recent Cannes Advertising Festival (where we won network of the year), which I've been tracking and working on for weeks now. I'm excited to be presenting in front of the whole agency. It's an informal event designed to help the different departments check in with what everyone else has been up to. Also, I am writing another piece that will be sent to the whole network (worldwide), this time about Chinese luxury. Super random topic about which I have a lot of learning to do, but it's great exposure and a really great way to get my name out there. I've really felt like the longer I'm here, the bigger role I'm taking on. A new intern started in Imogen's place. Her name is Tilly, and we get along great already. It's so nice to have someone to talk to. Today at lunch, we are on a mission to Paperchase to get wrapping paper to decorate our desks with!

In terms of my life outside of work, this is an exciting week! This morning, Katie and I went out for our first English breakfasts! So yummy - I haven't had that nourishing of a breakfast in forever, and my day got off to a great start with a lovely meal and my lovely friend! And tonight, all the girls (Nargis, Katelyn, Ann, Katie, Melissa, and myself) are going to see the new Twilight movie. Then tomorrow, there's a seminar for my program and an info session about Paris. Thursday will be packing day (and maybe some last minute shopping??) so that we'll be ready to go to Paris bright and early Friday morning!
